What advice do you have for your fellow or prospective Scholars?

James Li | Kernersville, North Carolina
Carswell Scholar
Aidan Norris | Kampala, Uganda
Stamps Scholar
What advice do you have for your fellow or prospective Scholars?
“Be confident in yourself. Understand that you will make mistakes, but know that you can and will recover from them. Remember that everyone around you is still learning their place in the world, and you are no different from them. Trust that you will find your way, and live the questions that come from not knowing yet.”
Amanda Peake | Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Stamps Scholar
Addison Schmidt | Clemmons, North Carolina
Stamps Scholar
What advice do you have for your fellow or prospective Scholars?
“Just be yourself! Focus on what sparks your interests, don’t be afraid to try new things, and ask for help- of any kind- when you need it. Also, don’t worry about having everything figured out, none of us do. The more open-minded you are, the better off you’ll be :)”
Lillie Sutton | Clemmons, North Carolina

What is your favorite book?
“One of my favorite books is All the Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr. That’s probably my favorite book, but some other top picks include Educated (Tara Westover), The Lucifer Effect (Philip Zimbardo), The Book Thief (Markus Zusak), and Becoming (Michelle Obama).”
Mercer Webb | Raleigh, North Carolina
