On-Campus Housing Requirement

While Wake Forest University has a 3-year residency requirement for students, merit scholarships carry with them a 4-year residency requirement. Those who receive merit scholarships bring with them various talents that we expect they will contribute in significant and meaningful ways to our campus community: in the classroom, in our clubs and organizations, and to other members of the student body. Their participation enhances the overall quality of the Wake Forest community.

Historically, merit scholarship recipients (knowing of their obligations) communicate this with their peers and friends in order to arrange housing that meets the requirements of their scholarship. They often live together in on-campus housing, which includes the “Road Houses” located on Polo Road and Deacon Place Apartments.

Full-Time Enrollment

Merit scholarships carry with them the requirement that students be enrolled full-time during the fall and spring semesters, a minimum of 12 credits per academic semester.
