There are so many external scholarships out there that it can be hard to know where to start! On this page, you’ll find more information about the awards that Demon Deacons apply for most often, and learn more about the on-campus nomination process that some require. Take a look at the resources below, and once you’ve decided on pursuing a particular award, make an appointment with a member of the Fellowship Team.
Scholarships that Require On-Campus Nomination
Some of the most competitive awards require an on-campus nomination. What that looks like varies according to each award and how many other students apply, but in every case, it means submitting your application before the official deadline so that a Selection Committee can review your materials, offer feedback, and invite you to an interview if needed.
Fulbright Scholarship
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers competitive grants for students to conduct research, study, or assist teaching English in one of 140 countries. Grant dates and lengths vary by award, but generally last an academic year.
Goldwater Scholarship
The Goldwater Scholarship honors top STEM students, supporting sophomores and juniors with exceptional research potential in natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics, helping to develop the next generation of scientific leaders.
Truman Scholarship
The Truman Scholarship is a prestigious award for college juniors who excel academically, demonstrate leadership, and are committed to public service careers, providing funding for graduate study and professional development.
Udall Scholarship
The Udall Scholarship supports future leaders in environmental issues, Tribal public policy, and health care, honoring the legacy of Morris and Stewart Udall’s impact on Native American self-governance and conservation.
UK Awards
These highly competitive scholarships provide transformative experiences for talented, high-achieving students to continue their studies in the United Kingdom at some of the most prestigious universities in the world. And they do so along with the brightest minds of their generation.
